Ages Past is delighted to offer for hire an historical single decker bus as a supplement to its wonderful collection of vintage and historic automobiles.

This vehicle is offered in first class condition at a slightly higher price than most of our cars but with no added VAT, as for the charabanc.

All the same discounts apply as are listed in our Ages Past pricing structure, and in our brochure letter. We will be delighted to give you individual quotations to hire this extra special bus for fun trips to the races, the theatre, the seaside, London or any other happy occasion.

Foe those who are interested in the provenance of this bus. It was originally supplied in rolling chassis form to Safety Coach Services (S.C.S.) of St Helier, Jersey in 1946 and their intention was to have it bodied locally by Jersey Motor Panels. Before this was commenced S.C.S. was sold to Jersey Motor Transport (J.M.T.) on 1st November 1946 who decided to send the rolling chassis to Mulliner to be bodied.

It entered service with the registration J 6986 in September 1947, painted in B.E.A. livery for the airport service until repainted in standard bus livery in March 1951.

It was withdrawn from service by J.M.T. in 1969 and then passed to mainland owners when it was initially re-registered LTR 336R. It then became illegal to have a plate that was younger than the vehicle, so it was re-registered again as LSU 857.
